Stewardship

Stewardship

“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”  2 Corinthians 9:7

Thank you for your financial support. Every dollar that you invest is used to fulfill our mission of furthering God’s kingdom both locally and throughout the world by striving to honor the Lord with the “firstfruits” (Proverbs 3:9) of all our labor.

Stewardship is the careful and responsible management of what has been entrusted to us. We are all called to steward well our gifts, time, money, resources, and God’s creation. The very foundation of stewardship is the reality that God owns it all. Everything we have is his; every dollar, every hour, every talent, every dream, our family, recreation, everything. God’s word encourages us to hold everything loosely, totally surrendering it to God and serving him with gladness of heart. When we invest our time, money and resources in kingdom purposes our faith becomes stronger each time God answers prayer and supplies a need.

For financial gifts, we encourage you to use online giving or to mail your check to the church (P.O. Box 127,  Houghton, NY 14744).

We also now accept gifts online. Give a one time or recurring gift.

We have been given endless resources to bless others. At Houghton Wesleyan there are many opportunities to give: General Offering, Faith Promise, Benevolent Fund, Food Pantry, and Estate Giving/Memorials.

Generosity

We live in a material culture, blessed beyond measure with convenience and amenities.  A lifestyle of generosity chooses to focus on God and his priorities.  Our God is a generous God, we can be generous too!
