Spirituality for 21st Century Pilgrims

Using the foundations of group prayer and mutual support, this group will look
at the particular challenges of the spiritual life in our new decade and explore
a variety of tools and practices aimed at facilitating the spiritual formation
of today's Christians.

This group will examine the inward, outward, and corporate disciplines of the
Christian faith, using readings from the book Spiritual Classics, edited by
Richard Foster and Emilie Griffin, as a starting point for discussion and
reflection.

This group will examine Matthew’s account of the teaching of our LORD in the
Sermon on the Mount, exploring how it applies to our lives today.

In recent years, much of the discussion on the topic of worship (at least in the
U.S.) has been about worship style, and particularly about music. This study is
designed to go deeper: What are the important questions to ask about worship,
beyond style? What do we all as Christian worshippers hold in common, regardless
of our cultural context or stylistic preference? How can the teachings of
Scripture and other wisdom literature form us to worship more fully, more
deeply? This group focuses on these questions and more, using the book A More
Profound Alleluia, edited by Leanne Van Dyk.
1 & 2 CORINTHIANS

This group, with its teaching emphasis, is systematically working its way
through Paul’s letters to the church in Corinth. This semester they will be
exploring the last two chapters of 1 Corinthians and then moving from there
right into 2 Corinthians.
ROMANS

This group is exploring Paul’s letter to the Romans, using a John Stott study
guide as a catalyst for discussion and interaction.
1 CORINTHIANS

This group will continue to explore the timeless truths of the Christian faith
found in Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians.
YOUNG FAMILY GROUP

Time: Sunday, 6:30 PM (every other week)
This group, geared for young families, meets every other week for fellowship,
encouragement, and discussion of the Word. The specific study will be finalized
during the first meeting, with input from the group.
